But it makes sense that it is some compatibilty issue.įor the time being I have disconnected the cable box and am just running the cable straight to the TV as it was making me queezy from all the rolling around, leaving my night time entertainment options to consist of various infomercials. There is a few buttons on the front to adjust the colour, tint, etc and to change it to AV. There is not even a on- screen menu option for it neither on the remote (it is the original remote) or the TV. I just went and looked at it and it has nothing on it for an AFT setting. What you most likely have is a compatability issue relating to the OLD (like me) and the NEW. That should increase the stability when on the Cable box. If you find the AFT setting turn the AFT off or change AFT modes. I have not taken the time to look up this set but you might see if there is a AFT switch on the set or in the On Screen Menu if it has one. It does not hate you, It is simply old technology. I will never understand why this TV hates me so much! The only way to go past channel 20 is with a cable box. When set to "antenna" it tunes in no channels. I just didnt want to make it worse before asking someone who knowsĪs far as the channels, the TV is set to "cable" and it only recieves up to channel 20. I will try to adjust the hold from the back, I did consider that but I found it strange it only acts up with a cable box plugged into it but is fine when the cable wire itself is plugged directly to the TV and not through the box. Should go higher than 20 with it switched to "Cable." If you get channel 23 (METV), you're not on "Cable." Should be OK - broken plastic where antenna jack mounts. Set does have a Vertical hold control in the rear.

The chasis number- where might I find that? Is that the serial number? It says "Sears and Roebuck" on the back. I should have stated that clearer, it does go from top to bottom. Posted: Wed 9:07 pm Post subject: Sorry the picture is rolling top to bottom The entire picture rolling from left to right or from right to left. The entire picture rolling from top to bottom or from bottom to top PS: When you say rolling horizontally you have confused the issue. LXI has been manufactured by several different manufacture's over the years and it would be helpful if you could post the chassis number for easier identification. Seriously, LXI or Sears has never made anything. Thats not old, its simply dead and does not no it yet.
#LXI TELEVISIONS HOW TO#
I have pictures of it, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to load them onto here. Why does the TV only do this with a cable box plugged in? It does do it with the VCR plugged into it as well, and affects the VCR playback (I know I am way behind in my technology) Furthermore, is the TV hazardous? Could this be a potential fire hazzard? There are no noises or any other problems with it. It is not constant, it comes and goes, but is frequent. Today I got a brand new cable box and plugged it in, and now the picture rolls again. This fixed the problem, and it worked without problem. When this problem started, I removed this old cable box and plugged the cable wire from the wall directly into the TV. The TV had a very old cable box plugged into it because the TV will not go past channel 20 without it. It is not near a window or heater, there is no explanation as to why all the sudden this started.

The problem started out of the blue, I had not moved it, switched cables on it, or anything.

But it has been like this for the past 6 years I have had the TV, and it never had a problem until recently. This I understand is a common problem, however this is where I am confused: on the back of the TV, where the coax cable gets plugged in (I assume this is the power supply?) this section has been broken and pushed in, making it difficult to switch cables on it. It does not get better or worse if I hit the TV. I apologise that I do not know the correct terms, but here is the problem: the picture rolls every few seconds horizontally. Hi everyone- I am hoping someone can help me with my TV. Posted: Wed 1:29 pm Post subject: Sears LXI 564-42951651 Picture Rolls if connected to Cable
